Louis Smolka to meet Ray Borg at UFC 207

Louis Smolka will get a chance to bounce back relatively quickly.

The top flyweight will meet Ray Borg at UFC 207 on Dec. 30 in Las Vegas, it was reported Monday by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. UFC officials confirmed the bout on Twitter.

Smolka (11-2) fell to UFC newcomer Brandon Moreno, who came in on short notice, in a huge upset earlier this month via first-round submission. Smolka, 25, had won four in a row and seemed to be closing in on a title shot. The Hawaiian will now have to work his way back up the ranks, beginning with Borg on the year-end card.

Borg (9-2) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Justin Scoggins in February. Before that, the Albuquerque native had won three straight. Borg, 23, is still one of the youngest fighters on the UFC roster and a promising prospect.

UFC 207 is headlined by a women's bantamweight title fight between champion Amanda Nunes and former champ Ronda Rousey. In the co-main event, Dominick Cruz defends his bantamweight title against Cody Garbrandt.
