Michael Bisping: Brock Lesnar is ‘mentally weak’ and a ‘coward’

Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

Michael Bisping isn't backing down from his stance against Brock Lesnar.

The reigning UFC middleweight champion recently appeared on The Ric Flair Show and laid into Lesnar for his positive drug test at UFC 200. Bisping has quite a history with PED abusers, as three of his most important losses -- to Dan Henderson, Chael Sonnen, and Vitor Belfort -- came in top contendership fights against men who ultimately either tested positive for PEDs or were admitted users of testosterone replacement therapy.

And not surprisingly, when asked on Monday, Bisping doubled down on his feelings about Lesnar.

"Brock Lesnar tested positive for steroids, it's as simple as that," Bisping said on The MMA Hour. "I have a very strong opinion, so if you're going to come over here and fight and take steroids, you're a pussy. Simple as that. You come in here and act tough, but then you've got to take steroids? So which is it? Are you are tough guy or are you not a tough guy? And if you're taking steroids, then you're not a tough guy, because you're mentally weak and you're a coward."

Lesnar failed two drug tests within 12 days prior to his UFC 200 comeback fight against Mark Hunt. Lesnar first tested positive for the banned substance hydroxy-clomiphene, an anti-estrogen agent, and its metabolites in an out-of-competition test administered by USADA on June 28. He then tested positive for the same substances in a fight night drug test administered on July 9.

However, the results of Lesnar's failed tests were not known until weeks after Lesnar fought and defeated Hunt at UFC 200 -- a fact that enraged Hunt and prompted several UFC fighters, including Bisping, to criticize the WWE superstar.

"Listen, I respect any man that steps into the Octagon, because it takes balls. But, if you're going to go in there and take steroids to do it? F*ck you, you cocky son of a b*tch," Bisping said on The Ric Flair Show. "Kiss my ass. I will knock Brock Lesnar out with one f*cking punch. I will pick him up and throw him out of the Octagon like the pussy that he is. Am I making myself clear? F*ck you, Brock Lesnar. F*ck steroids.

"Steroids are the scourge of this sport, and anyone that takes them, kiss my ass."

Lesnar is currently awaiting a disciplinary hearing with both USADA and the Nevada Athletic Commission for his two failed tests. The 39-year-old could face upwards of a one-year suspension from USADA as well as a significantly harsher penalty from the NAC, considering the capriciousness with which the commission operates.

So while Lesnar may have his fair share of problems right now, Bisping knows that a few mean words aren't going to be one of them.

"I'm sure Brock Lesnar isn't giving a damn about me right now or what I'm saying," Bisping said. "So, all good."
