Colby Covington vs. Bryan Barberena added to UFC on FOX 22

New, comments

A welterweight match-up pitting Colby Covington vs. Bryan Barberena has been added to UFC on FOX 22. The news was announced by the promotion on Monday.

Covington is coming off an impressive win over Max Griffin back in August at UFC 202. The 28-year-old American Top Team product is 10-1 as a professional fighter with his only loss coming to Brazilian prospect Warlley Alves at UFC 194 back in December 2015.

Barberena last competed against the man who gave Covington his first and only professional loss, Alves, outpointing him to win a decision at UFC 198 in May. That win placed Barberena on a two-fight wining streak, as he had submitted Sage Northcutt at UFC on FOX 18 prior to the bout with Alves. 'Bam Bam' has a professional record of 12-3, and is 3-1 in the UFC.

UFC on FOX 22 is set to take place on Dec. 17 at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif. Strawweights Paige VanZant and Michelle Waterson will battle in the main event of the card.
