UFC 204 medical suspensions: UFC champ Michael Bisping could be out until April

Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

Michael Bisping's second title defense is going to have to wait. Perhaps even until the spring.

Bisping was medically suspended for 180 days following his unanimous decision win over Dan Henderson at UFC 204 on Saturday in Manchester, England, according to a document obtained by the UFC, which self-regulates in England.

The UFC middleweight champion can come back earlier if he is cleared by a face and head CT. However, Bisping is suspended for a firm 60 days, including 45 with no contact, for the laceration near his left eye that Henderson opened up early in the fight. That means "The Count" is unlikely to fight again before the end of the year.

Henderson was given a 30-day suspension, including 21 days of no contact, for a laceration.

Six other fighters were given 180-day suspensions following UFC 204: Danny Roberts (eye), Adriano Martins (ankle), Iuri Alcantara (elbow), Davey Grant (elbow), Russell Doane (elbow) and Ovince Saint Preux (knee).

UFC 204 took place Oct. 8 at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. The main card aired live on pay-per-view.
