This is the Promotional Malpractice Live Chat.
We've just finished off UFC 204: Michael Bisping vs. Dan Henderson 2. The main event was sensational and the rest of the card respectable, although the initial ratings for the FS1 prelims are the lowest in 13 months. Still, the card produced some magic and portends a lot for the middleweight division.
That leads us to Chris Weidman, who appears to be the clubhouse leader to get a title shot against Bisping if things go well for him at UFC 205. That's a big if, but there are reasons to think Weidman's situation will put him at the front of the queue, not least of which is the war of words the two continue to have.
News also broke yesterday that former NFL defensive end Greg Hardy was looking to pursue a career in mixed martial arts. This has been met with equal parts intrigue and horror as the disgraced player is looking to leave the toxicity of his domestic violence past and inability to work functionally on a team behind him. Whether he's any good (or even needs to be) remains to be seen, but it stands to reason promoters will be highly interested in him.
