Top contender Stipe Miocic (14-2) took on former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski (25-11, 1 NC) in the night's co-main event, which aired live on pay-per-view. Round 1: The referee in charge of the action is Herb Dean. Both fighters are orthodox. Oblique kick from Arlovski is the first punch landed. They clinch and fire looping punches, twice, but both only partially land. Right hand from Stipe Miocic crumples Arlovski, The Strong Style Fight Team heavyweight follows up on Arlovski with an additional right and left and now Arlovski is in trouble. The former UFC heavyweight champion falls to all fours and Miocic pounces, landing a series of lefts on Arlovski, who is not defending himself. Referee Dean steps in to stop the fight as Arlovski isn't properly defending himself.
In his post-fight interview with UFC commentator Joe Rogan, Miocic begged and pleaded UFC President Dana White for a potential title shot against the winner of Fabricio Werdum vs. Cain Velasquez.
