Round 1: John McCarthy is the referee. Brandao and Ortega are both orthodox. Brandao lands a nice overhand right. He also picks Ortega up and slams him to the mat and passes guard, but Ortega shrimps to guard. Brandao stands back and the two exchange before Ortega pulls guard. Brandao steps back and the two are striking again. Ortega switches stances back and forth, but not to dramatic effect. Hard body kick scores for Ortega from the southpaw stance.

Round 2: The two taunt each other, but don't land much of what little they throw. Brandao lands a two-punch body head combo. Ortega fires a right hand that lands. Brandao goes to the left to the body, right to the head again. Brandao feeds Ortega a left after eating a two-punch combo of his own. Ortega is pumping the jab to decent effect, but Brandao is also landing in spots. Brandao is still landing the occasional heavy punch.

Round 3: The two exchange bombs before Ortega attempts a double, but gets reversed in the process. Brandao stands back and Ortega jumps guillotine, but can't get it. They stand again and Ortega chases down a front head lock, locks up a guillotine and rolls to an anaconda. That doesn't work so he moves to mount. It turns into deep half, so as Brandao rolls, he turns it into a triangle. Brandao taps. Brilliant.
