Violence fans will only have to wait a few extra weeks.

A welterweight title fight between champion Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit has been rescheduled for the main event of UFC 195 on Jan. 2 in Las Vegas, it was announced Thursday night on FOX Sports Live. The bout was initially the main event of UFC 193 on Nov. 15 in Australia before Lawler injured his thumb. The new UFC 193 pits women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey against Holly Holm, which was initially the UFC 195 headliner.

Lawler (26-10, 1 NC) is coming off a hard-fought victory over Rory MacDonald in the co-main event of UFC 189 in July. In all, he has won four straight, including a split decision win over Johny Hendricks to win the belt at UFC 181 last December. Lawler, 33, only has one loss, to Hendricks in March 2014, since 2012.

Condit (30-8) returned after surgery to repair a torn ACL to shred Thiago Alves via second-round TKO (doctor's stoppage) in May. He injured his knee in a loss to Tyron Woodley in March 2014. Condit, 31, has won two of his last three fights and owns victories over the likes of Nick Diaz, MacDonald and Jake Ellenberger.

No other bouts have been announced for UFC 195, though historically the New Year's Eve weekend card has been a big one for the UFC.
