This is the Promotional Malpractice Live Chat.
It doesn't feel like a big fight week (not yet, anyway), but Saturday offers us a very, very good fight card top to bottom, something you don't hear me say very often. All three portions of UFC 192 have something promising about them, capping off with the UFC light heavyweight title going up for grabs as champion Daniel Cormier puts his title on the line against Alexander Gustafsson. The fight is being made under less than ideal circumstances, but with the looming return of former champ Jon Jones, the contest takes on a bit of a different appeal. We'll take a look at the entire card and break it all down.
That, naturally, brings us to the other news of the day. Jon Jones managed to avoid (for now) jail time and as soon as he's reinstated, could return to the Octagon. The timing of his court date with the week of two fighters he's already defeated competing for the belt he never actually lost has a certain literary quality to it, too. We'll break down what Jones' future could like, how soon he might be back, whether his punishment was just and more.
