Morning Report: Anthony Pettis vows to get his strap back during Twitter beef with Rafael dos Anjos

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

There seems to be some lasting hostility between UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos and former champ Anthony Pettis.

In March at UFC 185, Dos Anjos battered Pettis over five rounds to take the crown. According to No. 1 lightweight contender Donald Cerrone, Pettis even offered to help him prepare for his upcoming title challenge against Dos Anjos at UFC on Fox 17 in December.

"Anthony told me, he said, 'Hey Cowyboy, you need me to come down and train you for Dos Anjos," Cerrone told UFC commentator Joe Rogan. "'I hate that motherf***er. I'll be there.'"

Well, Dos Anjos just might have caught wind of the comments while he was doing some grocery shopping this weekend.

"Hey kids, whatch out for expired boxes," Dos Anjos posted.

Dos Anjos isn't the only one with cereal jokes.

Not everyone's face is made for a cereal box. But jus in time for Halloween, best served with juice... I'll get my strap back for sure but I'm focused on who's next. Slip up won't ever happen again!!!! Wasn't gonna address it but he had to post.

Pettis (RDA)

Pettis makes his return Jan. 17 when he faces Eddie Alvarez at UFC Fight Night: Dillashaw vs. Cruz in Boston, Massachusetts.
