On the biggest weekend in the history of the featherweight division, the man who first brought the 145-pound weight class into the limelight does not have a fight lined up. That's a situation he wants to change.

Former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber would like to compete on either UFC 194 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Dec. 12, or, barring that, The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale card the previous night at the Palms. MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani reported the news on Wednesday's edition of UFC Tonight.

Faber will be a part of the TUF Finale card in a non-fighting role, as he's one of the two coaches on the upcoming season and while have fighters competing on Dec. 11. The card's main event will between featherweight contenders Frankie Edgar and Chad Mendes.

Faber's opposing coach, UFC interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor, challenges champion Jose Aldo in the main event of UFC 194.

Faber (32-8) hasn't fought since losing a decision to Edgar in the Philippines at featherweight on May 16. Prior to that, he won six of his previous seven fights, all at bantamweight. Faber did not specify whether he wants his next fight at 135 or 145.
