It might not have been the most skilled mixed martial arts fight you've ever seen, but Reginaldo Vieira and Dileno Lopes let it all hang out in their Ultimate Fighter Brazil 4 bantamweight finale Saturday night.
In the end, though, Vieira, of Sao Paolo, got the job done, as he won via unanimous decision. The judges' scores were 29-28, 30-27, and 30-27.
A frenetic opening round saw both fighters trade guillotine choke attempts and wing wild punches at one another at a fast pace. The pace slowed in the second round, but in the third, the combatants once again went for broke. In a memorable closing sequence, with Vieira in top position and Lopes on the bottom, the two rained wild punches onto one another until the final horn.

The win was vindication for Vieira, who lost a quarterfinal fight before being reinserted into the tourney as a substitute.
"It was a very tough experience," Vieira said through an interpreter. "I let everyone down, but I am proof in the power of persistence."
