Fabio Maldonado called out a long list of light heavyweights. He's getting Tom Lawlor in São Paulo.
Maldonado and Lawlor are set to collide at the upcoming Fight Night card in Brazil, scheduled for Nov. 7 at the Ibirapuera gymnasium. Combate first reported the match-up.
Maldonado (22-8) will try to rebound from a decision loss to former champion Quinton Jackson in April, his first loss at 205 pounds since 2012, while Lawlor (10-5, 1 no-contest) looks for his third-straight win following stoppages over Gian Villante and Michael Kuiper.
Another bout added to the card is Gasan Umalatov (15-4-1) vs. Viscardi Andrade (17-6). The Russian Umalatov will enter the Octagon for the first time since a split decision loss to Cathal Pendred in Oct. 2014, while Andrade returns following his first UFC loss to Nico Musoke in Feb. 2014.
Glover Teixeira vs. Patrick Cummins, first reported by MMAFighting.com on Tuesday, is official for the co-main event. A trilogy bout between Vitor Belfort and Dan Henderson headlines the card.
