UFC 188 live blog: Tecia Torres vs. Angela Hill

This is the UFC 188 live blog for Tecia Torres vs. Angela Hill, a strawweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico.

Torres, who is 5-0 in her career, will face Hill, who is 2-0 in her career, on the main card.

Round 1: Hill is stalking early with Torres leaning for the right and Hill working the jab. Torres ducks under a punch and drives Hill into the fence. Hill stuffs most of it until Torres drags her off the fence and drives a trip to the right side. She's working from Hill's half guard. Torres attempts a knee cut pass, but no dice. Torres abandons effort to pass to give way to ground and pound and Hill recaptures full guard. Torres stands and fires a few hammerfists before the round ends.

Round 2: Hill is back to stalking early and Torres goes back to the front leg side kick. The right side trick Torres succeeded with in the first fails in the second. Two decent right hands by Torres before she changes levels and works the left side for a takedown, into side control. Torres is locked in half guard again and Hill tries to buck her off, but so far it doesn't work. Torres is back to side control, and then as Torres tries to lightly mount, is pulled back into half guard. Torres adjusts and moves to mount, but only briefly before Hill shrimps back to half guard. The referee stands them up for inactivity, but nothing really happens afterwards.

Round 3: Hill is coming out aggressive, but Torres tags her with a left hook.  The two briefly clinch in the center of the cage, but quickly separate. Torres pushes Hill into the fence, but Hill has an underhook and can't make it work. After a lot of nothing, the referee separates them again. Torres re-clinches and drives Hill into the fence. It basically ends there.
