Eduardo Dantas and Mike Richman agree on terms, fight back on for Bellator 137

Bellator

Eduardo Dantas and Mike Richman will fight after all.

The bantamweight clash, initially scrapped from Friday’s Bellator 137 card when Dantas and Richman couldn’t agree on details after Richman missed weight on Thursday, is back on after a meeting between both camps.

Sources close to the situation confirmed the fight was off moments after the weigh-ins, information later confirmed by California State Athletic Commission executive officer Andy Foster, but both fighters eventually agreed to go on and compete at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula.

Dantas initially requested a weight limit of 147 pounds on fight night for Richman to take the fight, but "The Marine" declined. According to sources, Dantas has made a new deal with the promotion, and his bout with Richman will now go on without any specific details on that matter.

"He didn’t make weight and the fight was off," Dantas told MMAFighting.com. "It’s a fighter’s duty to make weight, and our fight has a pound of leniency. He was way heavier than that.

"I trained for months for this fight and the fight adrenaline is already on me, so I can’t go home without fighting. That’s why I accepted it, also for the fans, and tomorrow I’m going full force over him."
