Gilbert Burns is out of UFC Fight Night 67.
The undefeated grappler, who improved to 3-0 in the UFC with a win over Alex Oliveira in March, was forced out of the lightweight bout with Norman Parke in Goiania, Brazil, with an undisclosed injury.
According to a report from Combate, Burns will be replaced by fellow Brazilian Francisco Trinaldo. A source close to Trinaldo confirmed the news to MMAFighting.com. UFC officially announced the change Tuesday.
Winner of the TUF: Smashes season, Parke (20-3-1) will look to get back on track following a split decision loss to Gleison Tibau in January. Parke won all but one of his previous five UFC bouts, fighting to a majority draw with Leonardo Santos in Brazil.
Trinaldo (16-4), on the other hand, would enter the contest on a two-fight winning streak, with decision victories over Leandro Silva and Akbarh Arreola. "Massaranduba" is 6-3 in the UFC, with only one of those bouts taking place outside of Brazil.
UFC Fight Night 67 takes place at the Goiania Arena and features a welterweight showdown between former interim champion Carlos Condit versus Thiago Alves in the main event.
