UFC 186 live blog: Yves Jabouin vs. Thomas Almeida

This is the UFC 186 live blog for Yves Jabouin vs. Thomas Almeida,  a bantamweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Jabouin, who has won three of his past five fights, will face Almeida, who is 18-0 in his career, on the main card.

Round 1: Both fighters open orthodox. Both fighters pawing with small shots to gauge reactions and timing, but not landing anything of substance. Jabouin times a hard double and it works. Almeida works his way back to the cage and stands, then lands a right hand. Almeida might be opening up, scoring with a right hand and left inside low kick. Body shot and a jab for the Brazilian now. Decent body kick, however, from Jabouin. The action heats up a bit and Almeida wings several hard right hands, virtually all of them landing. A left hook lands for Almeida and Jabouin is stunned. He leans on the fence and Almeida is all over him with a barrage of punches to the body and head in rapid succession. Referee Yves Lavigne has no choice but to stop it.
