This is the UFC 186 undercard blog for the UFC 186 event at the Bell Centre in Montreal on Saturday night.

There will be seven fights on the UFC 185 undercard. Patrick Cote vs. Joe Riggs, Alexis Davis vs. Sarah Kaufman, Chad Laprise vs Bryan Barberena, Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs. David Michaud, Nordine Taleb vs. Chris Clements, Jessica Rakoczy vs. Valerie Letourneau, and Aisling Daly vs. Randa Markos will be featured.

Aisling Daly vs. Randa Markos
Round 1: Daly moves in and initiates the action. Markos slouched in orthodox, connects with a solid right. Now they exchange in center, and both catching heat. Daly with a momentary clinch and a knee, but they break. Furious action early. Solid combo up top from Markos, who then wheels out on the counters. Big right hand catches Daly, and she clinches up and drives Markos to the fence. She's trying for a takedown, but so far can't get it. They are toiling there, and Daly still trying to toss Markos to the ground. Markos isn't budging -- until now. Markos is down, but she immediately reverses and is now in mount on Daly on fence. Daly rolls, and Markos has her back. Daly throwing punches backward on Markos, who has the full body lock. Trying to set up a RNC, but can't get her limbs situated. Markos keeping Daly vulnerable here, but Daly able to roll, and Markos now working sub game from top, working arm triangle choke. It's tight! Markos base is legit. Daly able to scramble out at the end, but big opening round for the Canadian Markos. MMA Fighting scores R1 for Markos, 10-9.

Round 2: Daly's face is flush red and marked up. Markos still bringing pressure, and they exchange. Good right hand from Markos. Now Daly ducks in and shoves Markos to the fence again, and right back into the takedown attempt. This time she gets it, and momentarily goes to work on Markos. Markos gets up though, and takes Daly down. Now Markos is wailing on Daly in side control with her left hand. Daly can't do anything about it. Referee taking a long look here. Punching pressure continues. Daly able to get back to her feet, and she defaults back to fence action, with Markos' back on the links. So far this has ended in trouble for Daly, but she's sticking to the script here. Daly drops lower trying to snatch Markos' off her feet and dump here there, but Markos widens. Finally Daly gets it done, dropping Markos on her face. Daly now mounting some offense, and they find themselves in a north-south position. Crowd lets up a roar. Daly sitting on Markos' head trying to pry an arm loose. Know she postures up and uses her knee to improve position. Markos struggles to her feel, but Daly still with a lock on her neck. Round ends. Good rebound round there for Daly. MMA FIghting scores R2 for Daly, 10-9 (19-19 overall)

Round 3:
Daly quick to come out in the third round, and Markos wheels around. Once again, after some skirmishing, Daly pressures to the fence, where she has Markos bottled up. She's looking for an inside trip. Markos leverages Daly around, and now she posts the Irish fighter on fence, and they roll around. Markos ends up scoring the takedown, and as she goes for arm/triangle again, she opens up with her left hand. Raining punched down on Daly, none of them doing any big damage. Daly doing her damndest to push Markos off, but nothing doing. Now Daly creates just enough of an opening to stand, and she puts Markos back on the fence. Markos punishes the aggression by tripping her down and ends up in mount. Daly rolls and gives up her back, and now Markos transitions for an armbar. She's trying to wrest Daly's arm free, but Daly keeping it locked up with her other arm. Good defense, but Markos now rolls again and sweetens the position, The fight ends with Daly trying to fight off a sub. Both women raise their arms at the end. MMA Fighting scores R3 for Markos, 10-9 (29-28 overall for Markos)

Jessica Rakoczy vs. Valerie Letourneau
Round 1: Hometown fighter Letourneau gets a nice pop from the crowd on intros. Jerin Lalel is the referee. They touch gloves. Rakoczy to middle, and Letourneau right off tags her as on approach. Rakoczy drops her head and bullrushes Letourneau to the fence, where they exchange and break. As Letourneau throws a combo up top, Rakoczy again goes low for a takedown, can't get it. Nice right hand from Rakoczy, and she tucks several uppercuts into Letourneau's ribs as they come together on fence. Now With Letourneau down, Rakoczy lifts Letourneau off the canvas as the Montreal fighter tries for a triangle. That looks tight. Crowd into it. But Rakoczy able to peel out of danger there, and they get back to their feet. Now Letourneau gets Rakoczy down, and they scramble there. Frantic action. Now Rakoczy reverses and she's on top, trying to improve her position. What a manic pace. Rakoczy now at Letourneau's side, and smalling her with punches. But Letourneau has Rakoczy's leg trapped to keep her at bay. Rakoczy now out of it, and the grappling continues. What a display. Round ends. MMA Fighting scores R1 for Letourneau, 10-9

Round 2: Letourneau out quick to center, and throws a high kick. Rakoczy is still bringing it, her athleticism is something else. Body kick from Letourneau, and they then trade up top. A nice deke to takedown attempt from Rakoczy, and has Letourneau on the fence. She's tenderizing Letourneau's thighs with her knees in close, still trying for a takedown. Toiling there, and Rakoczy holding the position on fence, but can't get Letourneau down. Nice several lefts from Letourneau to make Rakoczy think twice, and they finally break to center. Crazy looking hematoma on Rakoczy's eye. That looks nasty. They trade body kicks. A smile from Rakoczy after that. Letourneau is all business, though. She's stalking. Left hand to body kick from Letourneau. Overhand right from Letourneau connects, but she eats a straight left right after from Rakoczy. A pair of body kicks from Rakoczy to end the round. MMA Fighting scores R2 for Letourneau, 10-9 (20-18 overall)

Round 3: Doctors having a close look at Rakoczy's eye. He talks to ref and says she's good to go. Crowd loves it. They touch gloves. Big shot from Letourneau lands, a head kick, and Rakoczy drops low to shove her to the fence, and goes to work there. Rakoczy looking to trip Letourneau, but can't. Nice combo from Letourneau in the middle. Man, Rakoczy's eye is a mess. Disfigured looking. Crowd chants for Valerie. Rakoczy pushes her back to the cage, but can't get anything working. They come back out, and Letourneau waves a high kick by Rakoczy. Still, the French Canadian is stalking. Blood now pouring from Rakoczy's nose. Big tie-up on fence, and Rakoczy goes to work trying for a takedown. Head kick from Letourneau, who looks intense even with 80 seconds left. Body kick from Letourneau after a missed right hand from Rakoczy. They trade from range, and then Rakoczy rushes in throwing. Not a lot landed. They square up again, and Rakoczy lands right down the boulevard. At the end, Letourneau ends up in a top position on the ground. Crowd lets out a roar. Nordine Taleb vs. Chris Clements
Round 1: Marc Goddard is the third man. Clements was lying down in the cage waiting for Taleb as he walked out. Pretty funny. Taleb sprints forward for the touching of gloves. Head kick misses by Taleb. Body kick from Clements connects, and then they throw down. Lot of loud slaps from those kicks in the exchange. Taleb stays on Clements, and it looks like he took a kick to the groin. Break in the action. Goddard makes sure Taleb is okay, and he says he is. Right back at it. Big combo from Clements who has his kick caught at the end of it, and was nearly spun down. Taleb moves in, and as he does Clements clips him with a kick to the side of his ribs. Some swelling on Clements' face. Spinning kick to the body from Clements, but Taleb ties him up and puts him on fence. Now he's slamming knees into Clements, but they are hitting forearms. Nice takedown from Taleb, who dumps Clements on his back. As Clements scrambles, Taleb spins towards his neck, but Clements is up. Now back on fence, with Taleb doing some grunt work. They both throw knees in close and that cancels things out. Finally the break. Body kick from Clements ends up exposing him for a takedown, and now he's supine in the middle with Taleb on top. Taleb beingTaleb the bully here. Clements can't get up, so he plays guard. Taleb will finish out the round there, dropping hammerfists on Clements. MMA Fighting scores R1 for Taleb, 10-9.

Round 2: Taleb moves to center, and is looking for his opening. As he comes in Clements clips him up top with a right. Leg kick from Clements ends with a flurry from Taleb, who seems like he's waiting for that commitment before he attacks. Countering Clements beautifully. Now He shoots in and takes Clements down. He's in Clements' half-guard, and now moves to side control. He slips through to Clements' back, and just as Clements rolls, he get momentary mount. Clements roll again, and it's back to half-guard, but Taleb keeping the pressure on. He's through punches on the ground, and they scoot to the fence. Clements just can't mount much on offense, and now he's getting thoroughly frustrated. He tries to get up, but gets dumped back down along fence. Again, Clements fending, but now he's trying to torque Taleb's arm free for a kimura, but ain't happening. Taleb connects and dumps him again, and here we go with some ground-and-pound. Not much though, not much space to work with -- Clements is keeping Taleb close. Taleb having his way, as he drops an elbow onto Clements' head. Clements scoots to fence, and sits up. Just as the round ends he is able to stand, but he's wearing Taleb like a backpack. MMA Fighting scores R2 for Taleb, 10-9 (20-18 overall).

Round 3: Taleb wastes no time in getting Clements back down, and immediately he has his back. This is a one-sided beatdown, but Clements not taking major damage. It's more vertigo than anything; Taleb just dominating the action. He slams a right hand home as Clements gets to a knee. And right as he gets the rest of the way up, Taleb brings him right back down. Crowd getting antsy as Taleb holds Clements in place. Clements does all he can to stand, and now he does. Nice exchange, and Clements lands a big shot. Taleb points to the back of his head. They keep going. Head kick by Taleb makes Clements smile. Again, as soon as Clements throws the leg kick Taleb slams him up top with a big punch and takes him down. Here we go again. Blood on the head of Clements, as Taleb digs in from his guard. Elbow from there for Taleb, who has just made this an experience from hell for Clements. He buries his head in Taleb's chest, and keep the pressure on. Lot of blood on Clements, and he's leaving it on the canvas. He turns, but he can't get up. Fight ends with Taleb in dominant top position. He tried to help Clements up, but Clements doesn't seem to keen on that. He's a bloody mess. MMA Fighting scores R3 for Taleb, 10-9 (30-27 overall)

Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs. David Michaud
Round 1: Yves Lavigne is the referee. These cats look an awful lot alike. They touch gloves. Michaud to the middle. Lot of active hair early, as Aubin-Mercier connects with a shot up top. Another good right to the head from Aubin-Mercier, and Michaud moves in. Beautiful level switch there from Aubin-Mercier, who ducks under a punch and scores a takedown. Big knees from Aubin-Mercier into Michaud's thighs. Aubin-Mercier still with Michaud's back, and he's trying to complete a takedown. He has his back now. Good right hands from Aubin-Mercier snaps Michaud's head. Michaud doing a good job not grabbing the fence. This is futile so far from Michaud, who is crawling forward with Aubin-Mercier on his back. Now Aubin-Mercier snatches his forward and has the body triangle. Aubin-Mercier is trying for the rear naked choke, but so far Michaud playing it smart, rolling into his opponent. Still, Michaud is vulnerable here. With half a minute left Aubin-Mercier really digging in for that choke, and for just a split second looked like he got it. Rounds going to end with Aubin-Mercier in firm control, landing punches from Michaud's back. MMA Fighting scores R1 for Aubin-Mercier, 10-9.

Round 2: Michaud with a big punch as the crowd erupts with the face of GSP on the jumbotron. Another good punch as Aubin-Mercier was coming in from Michaud, who snapped him back. Body kick from Aubin-Mercier is audible, lands flush. They skirmish in the middle. A chant for Aubin breaks out. Head kick from Aubin-Mercier grazes Michaud. And another. Superman punch from Aubin-Mercier, who has a trace of blood coming out of his mouth or nose. Nice right-left combo from Aubin-Mercier, who backs Michaud up with that. Michaud lands a big shot that rocks Aubin-Mercier! He peels backwards and Michaud follows with a head kick. Now they stand and trade and both men land violently. This fight picking up. Body shot from Michaud, who looks crazed. Huge shot from Aubin-Mercier drops him with a shot, and goes for the kill. Michaud has recovered, but Aubin-Mercier is still on him. What a crazy round. Michaud stands and they return to the center. Michaud headhunting out there, lunges forward with a sally. Caught Aubin-Mercier on the last punch.They trade one last time, and the round ends. MMA Fighting scores R2 for Aubin-Mercier, 10-9 (20-18 overall)

Round 3: Aubin-Mercier grabs Michaud at center and they spin around several times as he tries to unroot him and throw him down. They go to fence, and again, Aubin-Mercier on Michaud's back, not giving him an inch to work with. Methodically, Aubin-Mercier secures a body lock with his legs and starts to set up the rear naked choke. Once again, Michaud is in the position to fend for himself. This time he can't! Aubin-Mercier sinks the choke, and that's it -- he taps. Aubin-Mercier gets the first finish of the nice.

Chad Laprise vs. Bryan Barberena
Round 1: Phillippe Chartier is the ref. Nice leg kick right off the bat from Barberena. Sort of caught Caprise by surprise. Still, the Canadian Caprise moves forward and lands a great head kick in close range on fence. Wow. Flurry by Caprise on fence, and he's catching Barberena pretty good. Great pace here, too. Both guys fighting with urgency. Leg kick from Barberena, and then he gets clobbered up top with a right hand that knocks him off balance. Another head kick from Laprise, and this time Barberena mostly blocks it. Big exchange, and Larprise with the counter connects solidly. Laprise coming alive on fence, firing off a variety of high kicks. Tough kid, Barberena. He's starting to bleed a bit. Body kick from Barberena lands, and there's a spinning kick from Laprise who is lighting Barberena with his feet. Inside leg kick from Barberena, but nothing much on it. Some trepidation, perhaps, from getting blasted from inside and range. Push kick puts Barberena back a bit. Looping right hand gets through for Barberena, and he follows up with a body kick. He's still bringing it. Spinning punch from Laprise wasn't flush, and Barberena moves in a fence to land a couple. Action round right there, but belongs to Laprise. MMA Fighting scores R1 for Laprise, 10-9.

Round 2: Laprise moving fowrward, and he's staying aggressive. Right as he comes in with a punch Barberena slips and connect with a kick. He gets the favor returned on the next sequence, and now they are swinging on the fence. Mad little moment there, and Laprise is still crisper in most of these encounters. Nice jab buy Laprise, and Barberena is a gamer, he comes right back with a big left hand that lands. There's some pocket swinging, as both guys connect on the exchange. They tie up in the middle, and Barberena lands a knee in the clinch to break them apart. Right hand over the top from Barberena lands, and Larpise grabs his waist and mandhandles him for a second there. Laprise very poised in there, staying light on his feet, giving Barberena a lot to think about. He wheels away from Barberena's power and delivers a monstrous left hand. Barberena eats it and continues on. Laprise puts his head down and throws again. Now they trade leg kicks. Barberena with his arms up as he drops a high kick that lands. He's still coming. Again, he puts his arms up in taunting motion, and they clinch on fence. Barberena looks lively here as the round ends. Still, think Laprise might have done more. MMA Fighting scores R2 for Laprise, 10-9 (20-18 overall)

Round 3: Barberena's corner told him to "break his ass," as they walked away. Barberena looked good later in the second, and he opens up with a crushing body kick in the third. That could be heard in the rafters. Now they get in close and dirty box. Good exchange again from Barberena, who snuck in an uppercut. Still, Laprise flits back to his range and resets. Barberena doing his best to distrupt, and he's throwing continuously. Barberena gets Laprise down for a second, but can't keep him there. They are on fence, and Barberena is dictating. He roughs Laprise up there for a moment and they break. Back to center. Laprise puts his head down and swings hard on a combo, and caught Barberena with both punches. Barberena can take a punch, though. He puts his arms back up and moves forward. He catches a short right hand right on the chin as he comes in, and Laprise now back-pedals to comfortable range. They tie-up and roll to fence, where both land in close. They break, and the crowd gets anxious. Some blood on the top of Laprise's head; not sure if that's his or if it belongs to Barberena. Spinning kick with his right leg from Laprise lands! That brought the crowd back into it. He's been masterful with his kicks throughout. Big one-off right hand from Laprise, and that too lands. He sets up for one last big exchange, and the crowd delights as they throw at the bell. MMA Fighting scores R3 for Laprise, 10-9 (30-27 overall).

Alexis Davis vs. Sarah Kaufman
Round 1: Here we go...rematch of one of the better fights from a few years ago. Jaren Valel is the ref. Kaufman to the center, and she sizes Davis up. Jab from Davis disrupts as Kaufman was thinking of heading in. Leg kick from Kaufman leads to a series of punches from both. Kaufman tagging Davis already, and Davis' face turning shades of red. Again, they exchange at center and Kaufman gets the better of Davis. Davis smartly ties Kaufman up and puts her on fence. Now from the plum, Kaufman with a knee. Davis leads with a left jab, keeping that rightt ready to deploy. As Davis tries a swooping punch she eats three short ones inside. Kaufman mighty quick; Davis can't keep doing that. They clinch and roll to the fence, and Davis switches levels but can't move Kaufman off her feet. Still, the pressure is there, as she grabs a single leg and hoists. Nothing doing. Kaufman keeping herself broad and heavy, and she turns Davis into the fence with underhooks. Can't do much, and they break. They joust with jabs and leg kicks to end the round. MMA Fighting scores R1 for Kaufman, 10-9.

Round 2: Davis with a kick to the body, but Kaufman catches it. Inside leg kick from Davis. Kaufman sitting on the high hats, just waiting to punish Davis' if she stray in too long. Davis with a kick, and boom, she eats a straight right. Davis can't get out of the way of those. Kaufman, however, is feinting and moving, making herself an elusive target. Great combo there from Kaufman who lands a left cross and a right uppercut, very well timed. Her face, too, is starting to get a little purple in spots. As Kaufman moves in for a takedown, Davis slings her to the ground, and she gets mount. Whoa. She's swinging away at Kaufman, and now applying a triangle. Now she's transitioning, and Davis locks in a tight armbar -- and that's it! Kaufman either tapped or verbally tapped, but that's it! Davis with the submission victory. Kaufman's tap hand was trapped under her form. What a turn of events. Great stuff there to persevere from Davis, who avenges her losses to Kaufman.

Patrick Cote vs. Joe Riggs

Round 1: Marc Goddard is the ref. Cote chants already live in the Bell Centre. Cote quick to the middle. Riggs bopping up top as he circles. Now they come together, and Riggs with a very easy takedown of Cote, and immediately takes his back. Wow. He climbs atop Cote's back on fence, and now is piggybacking. Riggs finesses Cote to the ground, and right when they get there Cote reverses. The crowd lets up a cheer as Cote tries to get things rolling from top, but Riggs gets back up. They are still on fence. Cote removes Riggs' feet from the canvas and drops him on his butt, and now he's stretching him out into butterfly guard. Cote finally opens up and throws some punches from that position. Riggs didn't like it, and now he's battling back to his knees, trying to get up. Cote leaning his entire hulk on him, but Riggs finally does stand. Cote picks him up though and lies him back down, and now he's throwing bombs with his right hand. Riggs covers, but he ate some of those. Riggs again gets to a knee, and advances to his feet -- repeat, he gets dumped right back down. This time Cote drags him to the middle, and he's in a good position, trying to get to side control. Elbows hammering home from Cote to Riggs' side. Now Cote has got Riggs arm and was flirting with it, but Riggs squirms out, and they end up in a scramble. Some heated throws there at the end. MMA Fighting scores R1 for Cote, 10-9.

Round 2: Riggs holding the middle, and Cote tries to blast him with a body kick. Only caught him partially. Riggs backpedals and Cote comes in. He lands a couple of short shots, and one of them might have hurt Cote, who has his back on the fence. Big elbow from Riggs in close on fence, swiped Cote clean across the brow. They break, but Riggs won that sequence. Body punch from Riggs, and it might have landed low...Cote hesitated a moment, then said he was fine. Riggs waving his right out there, but not uncorking the left. Cote changes levels and tries to take Cote down. It was half-hearted. Riggs now plows into Cote and drives him to the fence, selling out for his own takedown. Cote tries a trip and found himself off balance. He recovers and gets back up, but Riggs is still on him. He's grinding on that fence, and he drops an elbow in like he did earlier. Shoulder strikes from Riggs. Now a knee to Cote's thigh. Little cumulative strikes adding up, but Cote finally breaks. Riggs in the middle, resets, and now circles. Cote bounds forward, and they meet in the middle like slabs; it's Cote who gets dropped down, and Riggs goes right to work snatching his back, but time runs out on the round. MMA Fighting scores R2 for Riggs, 10-9 (19-19 overall)

Round 3: Cote with a rangy right hand, which lands, and he applies some pressure. A body kick produces a spray of sweat from Cote. Riggs drops down and grabs Cote's legs, which were in tight, and takes him right down. He improves straight away to mount, and as Cote rolls he grabs his back. Uh-oh. Riggs with a ton of time as he gets the body triangle locked in. Cote fending, and, perhaps because o the sweat, reverses! Now Cote coming to life in Riggs' guard. What a turn of events. Crowd erupts. Cote driving his head into Riggs' thorax and landing little punches to his side. Riggs is scooting, but he's headed towards the abyss of the middle. Cote keeps burrowing. Riggs, from bottom, with an acute elbow. Cote nonplussed, keeps his pressure on, not letting Riggs go anywhere. Cote still landing little shots to the body, and the odd punch to Riggs' head. He has control here. Riggs trying desperately to scramble out, and gets to the fence with Cote still seatbelted to him. Riggs, with the aid of the fence, stands. And as Cote tries to take him back down, Riggs with the underhooks tosses Cote instead, and gets his back. Subtle turns here, as now Riggs ends up getting Cote's back again late. He wails away on punches as the round ends. Might be too little too late for Riggs. MMA Fighting scores R3 for Cote, 10-9 (29-28 overall for Cote).
