Ronaldo Souza did the only thing he could do on Saturday night.
The top middleweight contender and former Strikeforce champion found himself in a rematch against late substitute Chris Camozzi at UFC on FOX 15 on Saturday night after his original opponent, Yoel Romero, had to drop out of the bout with an injury with just over a week to spare.
As an overwhelming favorite, Souza did what he needed to maintain his status in the division, as he dispatched of Camozzi in 2:33 via armbar at Newark's Prudential Center.
Souza (22-3, 1 NC), who has now won eight fights in a row with five in the UFC, also won his first fight with Camozzi via first-round submission back in 2013.
Camozzi (21-10), who had been cut from the UFC, had won his previous two fights in smaller promotions.
