UFC Fight Night 64 gets two new bouts due to injury

Jason Silva-USA TODAY Sports

According to a statement released by the UFC on Friday, two bouts have been added to the UFC Fight Night 64 (UFC Krakow) fight card after injuries caused two previous bouts to be changed.

"With injuries taking Peter Sobotta and Krzysztof Jotko out of their UFC Fight Night bouts on April 11, the door has opened for a veteran welterweight and a middleweight newcomer to enter the Octagon in Krakow, Poland," the statement read.

"Stepping in for Sobotta for a three-round welterweight battle against Brazil's Sergio Moraes will be veteran Russian standout Gasan Umalatov.

"In middleweight action, Polish prospect Bartosz Fabinski will get a home game in his UFC debut, as he faces fellow newcomer Garreth McLellan of South Africa," the UFC announced.

Umalatov, 32, last competed at UFC Fight Night 53 in October of 2014 where he dropped a split decision loss to Cathal Pendred. He is 15-4-1 in MMA competition and 1-2 in three Octagon appearances.

Fabinsk, 28, is 11-2 in professional MMA and riding a four-fight win streak. He was only once competed outside of Poland. He last fought in October of 2014 where he recorded a unanimous decision victory over Alik Tseiko.

UFC Fight Night 64 is headlined by a heavyweight tilt between Mirko Cro Cop and Gabriel Gonzaga. The event will air on UFC Fight Pass.
