UFC 185: Anthony Pettis vs. Rafael dos Anjos is in the books and it was a landmark event for any number of reasons. New champions were crowned, old champions weren't just dethroned but made to look as if they didn't even belong and records were set. The UFC's hopes in converting Anthony Pettis into a pay-per-view attraction fizzled (at least for now and maybe ever), but lightweight is so good as a division that it might be the best one, in terms of talent, in the history of the sport.

Premier Boxing Championship had a strong debut on Spike, which is a positive sign for their Friday Night Lights Out franchise. Liam McGeary also signed up for a mutli-year deal with them, but former champion Alexander Shlemenko tested positive for elevated testosterone for his Bellator 133 bout.

Oh, and there are live fights this weekend and Ryan LaFlare continues his push into visibility when he headlines opposite Demian Maia at UFC Fight Night 62 in Brazil. The card also features the UFC debut of Fredy Serrano, a Colombian fighter this site previewed in 2013.
