Al Iaquinta didn't waste much time seeking out another solid, veteran lightweight test.
Just days after the Serra-Longo fighter put in an impressive performance against well-respected vet Joe Lauzon, Iaquinta's next fight is in place.
The Long Islander will face the American Top Team's Jorge Masvidal on April 4 at UFC Fight Night 63 in Fairfax, Va. FOXSports.com broke the news on Monday night.
Masvidal was originally slated to meet Benson Henderson on the card. But when Henderson was switched over to meet Brandon Thatch on Feb. 14, Masvidal needed a new opponent.
Iaquinta (11-3-1) has won three straight fights, with finishes in all three, and six of seven. Masvidal (28-8) has likewise won three straight and six of seven.
The bout will serve as the co-main event to the Chad Mendes-Ricardo Lamas headliner.
