Gilbert Burns needs a new opponent for UFC Fight Night 62.

Former Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh Thomson, who was set to meet Burns on March 21 at the Maracanazinho gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was forced out of the match-up with an undisclosed injury. MMAFighting.com confirmed the news following a report from Lance.

The promotion is trying to find a new opponent for "Durinho" (9-0), who recently scored a first-round submission victory over Christos Giagos at UFC 179 in his lightweight debut. In his first UFC fight, the Blackzilians prospect defeated welterweight Andreas Stahl via unanimous decision.

UFC Fight Night 62 was expected to feature Urijah Faber vs. Raphael Assuncao in the main event, but the Brazilian bantamweight was forced out of the five-round fight with an injury. Demian Maia vs. Ryan LaFlare was later moved to the main event.
