Gegard Mousasi appears to have received a new opponent in short order.
Mousasi wrote Sunday on Facebook that he'll be meeting Thales Leites in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Silva vs. Bisping on Feb. 27 in London. Leites' camp also confirmed with MMA Fighting that the fight is a go.
UFC officials have yet to confirm the matchup. Mousasi seems to have deleted the post as of Sunday evening.
Mousasi (37-6-2) was supposed to face Michael Bisping on the card, but Bisping was given the main event spot against Anderson Silva. The Dutchman is coming off a stunning upset loss to Uriah Hall in September via knockout, but won two in a row before that. Mousasi, still just 30, owns wins over the likes of Dan Henderson, Ronaldo Souza, Mark Hunt and Hector Lombard.
Leites (25-5) had his eight-fight winning streak snapped by Bisping by split decision back in July. The Brazilian has climbed back up the middleweight ladder after being cut by the UFC in 2009. Leites, 34, lost a unanimous decision to Anderson Silva in a middleweight title fight earlier in that same year.
UFC Fight Night 83 will be headlined by Silva and Bisping. Also on the card, Makwan Amirkhani meets Mike Wilkinson and Norman Parke faces Rustam Khabilov.
