This is the Promotional Malpractice Live Chat.
The year in MMA is basically over and it ended with Saturday's UFC on FOX 17 event. Despite self-appointed internet sleuths determining there was a clear difference between the physiques of Rafael dos Anjos since USADA testing began (there wasn't), the UFC lightweight champion couldn't have looked better as he dispatched Donald Cerrone in just 66 seconds. The question is now what happens to him, whether he faces Conor McGregor or some other lightweight challenger.
UFC 195 isn't too far away and it's worth looking ahead to 2016. 2015 had its issues, to be sure. Jon Jones suffered his biggest (and self-inflicted) career setback to date, the UFC was hit with a class-action antitrust lawsuit and there were plenty of fight cancellations. Still, it was a bit of a rebound year for the sport. Conor McGregor rose to the summit, Ronda Rousey hit heights never before seen for a MMA fighter before taking a tumble, there were massive-scale events from both Bellator and UFC and more. It was a year where promoters tried to push the biggest versions of themselves.
There's a lot going on, so join me today to discuss all of this and more. In terms of today's chat, anything is up for discussion, but I will lead with this and it all kicks off at 1 p.m. ET.
As is customary, I'll post the video window here as the event draws near and I'll answer any questions you may have if you post them in the comments section below. Be sure that you click the 'rec' button for those comments/questions you believe most deserve a response.
