Former World Series of Fighting featherweight champion Lance Palmer was one of four fighters to receive extended medical suspensions in the aftermath of WSOF 26, the Nevada Athletic Commission announced on Tuesday.
Palmer, who dropped his title to Alexandre Almeida via unanimous decision loss, will be required to seek doctor's clearance on a potentially injured left thumb or be forced to sit out until July 2016.
Joining him on that list are Robbie Peralta (broken foot), Johnny Nunez (left thumb), and Gil Guardado (right wrist).
WSOF 26 was held at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, NV. The event brought a close to WSOF's calendar year.
The complete list of WSOF 26's medical suspensions can be seen below.
- Lance Palmer: Requires x-ray of left thumb, if positive then must be cleared by doctor or no contest until 07/19
- Robbie Peralta: Requires broken foot to be cleared by doctor or no contest until 07/19; minimum suspension no contest until 02/18, no contact until 02/03
- Johnny Nunez: Requires x-ray of left thumb, if positive then must be cleared by doctor or no contest until 07/19
- Gil Guardado: Requires x-ray of right wrist, if positive then must be cleared by doctor or no contest until 07/19
- Alexandre Almeida: Suspended until 02/18, no contact until 02/03
- Nic Herron-Webb: Suspended until 02/18, no contact until 02/03 due to left eyebrow laceration
- Giga Chikadze: Suspended until 02/18, no contact until 02/03 due to two deep lacerations above right eyebrow
- Marat Magomedov: Suspended until 02/03, no contact until 01/19
