Former UFC and current Bellator heavyweight Cheick Kongo has his first bout in 2016 lined up. Kongo will face undefeated prospect Augusto Sakai at Bellator 150 on Feb. 26. That event will take place at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas.
Kongo, 40, stands at 23-10-2 in professional mixed martial arts and 5-2 inside the Bellator cage. He most recently competed at Bellator 139 in June where he defeated former Bellator heavyweight champion Alexander Volkov via unanimous decision.
Sakai, 24, is a perfect 9-0 in MMA and 3-0 in Bellator events. He last fought in November at Bellator 145 where he bested Alex Huddleston via unanimous decision.
Bellator 150 is headlined by a rematch between former Bellator bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas and current division king Marcos Galvao. David Rickels is also a part of the card, but his opponent has yet to be named.
