Round 1:
Referee Dan Miragliotta is charged with pulling one of these behemoths off the other should things play out as expected. I do not envy that position, friends. The fight begins. Awkward glove touch as Overeem wasn't sure if dos Santos was trying to touch up or just get his range. Twenty seconds in and no strikes have been thrown. Some feints from Overeem. Thirty seconds, still nothing. Forty seconds. The tension is palpable. Fifty seconds. Dos Santos charges but neither throws. One minute, and nothing. Leg kick from dos Santos misses the mark. Super tense. Dos Santos pressuring Overeem. Dos Santos paws a jab that misses. Two strikes in nearly two minutes. A straight right lands for dos Santos. There we go. They trade kicks. High kick from dos Santos is blocked. Straight right from dos Santos. Inside leg kick lands for Overeem. Reem misses with a straight left. Three minutes down. Knee from Overeem is answered with a right hand from dos Santos. Another inside leg kick, but this one is checked by dos Santos. Overhand left glances off dos Santos. Another overhand left. This one lands solidly but dos Santos continues to press forward. Two kicks from Overeem score. Thirty seconds left in the round. Dos Santos is bleeding, most likely from that overhand left. A kick misses from dos Santos, they clinch, and the round ends.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9, Overeem (but if you're a 10-10 kind of guy, now is probably the time to use it)

Round 2: Overeem comes out in the orthodox stance (in contrast to his southpaw stance in Round 1), and he eats a kick to the nether-lands. Back to southpaw for Overeem after the brief delay. Left body kick lands for Overeem. The activity is picking up, but it's still nowhere near what fans expected. Dos Santos looks for the spinning wheel kick but whiffs. Dos Santos steps in, and Overeem wings a counter left that just misses. Knee from dos Santos. Leg kick from dos Santos. Leg kick from Overeem. Inside leg kick from Overeem. Dos Santos just can't figure out the range, it appears. Kick to the body from Overeem. Straight right from dos Santos, but it's mostly blocked. More leg kicks from Overeem. Big left hand from Overeem followed by a right staggers dos Santos and sends blood pouring from his eye. That's the most significant shot of the fight thus far. Dos Santos slowly morphing into something out of a horror movie. It is over! Overeem wallops dos Santos with a perfect left hook, and it is sealed. Dos Santos was working to his feet it appeared, but Miragliotta called it as Overeem looked to swarm with hammerfists. Hard to see it getting any better for the Brazilian there. Personally, I'm good with the stoppage.

What a victory for the JacksonWink product there.
