LAS VEGAS -- Tony Ferguson earned himself a double dip into the UFC's postfight bonus pool.
The Southern California lightweight put on an electrifying performance in a thrilling battle against Edson Barboza Friday night at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale at The Cosmopolitan.
Ferguson, the TUF 13 winner, used a D'Arce choke to win the bloody showdown at 2:54 of the second round, his seventh straight victory. It was also his third submission finish in his past four fights.
That was enough to earn Ferguson both Fight of the Night and Performance of the Night bonuses, giving him an extra $100,000 on the evening. Barboza, who held up his end of the bargain in creating an exciting fight, takes home $50,000 for his efforts.
The other Performance of the Night came from Frankie Edgar, who dropped Chad Mendes in the first round of their main event fight and left little doubt he deserves the next featherweight title shot. That was Edgar's 10th career postfight bonus.
