Thiago Tavares didn't waste any time Saturday night in Sao Paulo. The 31-year-old Tavares capitalized on an early double leg attempt to snake his arms around Clay Guida's neck and submit the veteran with a guillotine choke just 39 seconds into the pair's featherweight contest on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night 77.
UFC Fight Night 77: Belfort vs. Henderson took place Nov. 7 at the Ginasio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Tavares (20-6-1) moved to 2-1 as a featherweight with the win, while Guida (32-16) tasted defeat for the fifth time over his last eight contests.
