Rizin Fighting Federation is loading up for its inaugural show.
Muhammed Lawal will represent Bellator MMA in a light heavyweight grand prix tournament during the Rizin FF event on New Year's Eve week, former PRIDE head and Rizin president Nobuyuki Sakakibara announced Friday during Bellator 145. The main portion of the event will air on Spike TV in the United States tape delay on Dec. 31 at 10 a.m., according to a press release.
"When I go back to Japan, they're going to be calling me 'King Mozilla' when I'm done with that tournament," Lawal said after the announcement.
Also competing at the event is female Brazilian jiu-jitsu standout Gabi Garcia. Smith announced she will face Seini Draughn, who is better known by her stage name, Lei'D Tapa, which she uses as a professional wrestler for Total Nonstop Action wrestling and Global Force Wrestling. The two squared off before separating with a shove.
