Michael Chandler lands massive right hand on David Rickels at Bellator 145

After a first round that saw Michael Chandler control the action with superior striking and grappling, things were looking up for David Rickels in round two at Bellator 145.

And then Chandler landed the shot in the video above.

A monstrous right hand put Rickels on wobbly legs, and the finish was near. After a brief scuffle, Chandler sealed the deal with some ground-and-pound that forced the referee to intervene. For his efforts, Chandler secured his second victory in as many tries over Rickels, each via knockout.

After the victory, the former Bellator lightweight champ Chandler said he'd like to face the winner of the night's co-main event between champ Will Brooks and challenger Marcin Held.

"I deserve that belt. I believe that in my heart," Chandler said. "I think I'm the best fighter in this division. I think I'm the best lightweight in the world on any given night. I hope those guys battle it out for you guys. I want the winner. Scott Coker, make it happen. If not, I'll knock every single one of you lightweights down to get there."

With the win over Rickels, Chandler moves to 11-3 inside the Bellator cage and 14-3 overall.
