Danny Roberts has been dealt a new opponent for his UFC debut on Dec. 10. And it comes in the form of fellow newcomer, Nathan Coy.
Roberts, the boxer-turned-martial artist more affectionately known by his nickname "Hot Chocolate," will face Coy at UFC Fight Night 80 at the Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, the UFC announced on Monday. The British fighter had been slated to face Ultimate Fighter 21 member Michael Graves, who was forced from the card due to an injury.
Coy (14-5) is a teammate of Graves' at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, and also competed on TUF 21. Roberts belongs to the rival gym, the Blackzilians.
The welterweight bout will take place as part of the prelims on the event.
UFC Fight Night 80 features a strawweight battle between Paige VanZant and Rose Namajunas in the main event, as well as the return of 19-year old star Sage Northcutt, who faces Cody Pfister.
