Rafael Cordeiro: Fabricio Werdum is the best heavyweight ever

Who is the greatest heavyweight of all-time? Rafael Cordeiro believes it’s the one who holds the UFC belt today.

Longtime MMA coach Rafael Cordeiro refused to call Fabricio Werdum the best heavyweight ever following "Vai Cavalo’s" win over Cain Velasquez in Mexico City, but he appears to have changed his mind ahead of a rematch with the former champion in 2016.

Watching fans say Werdum only beat Velasquez because they were fighting in high altitude bothers the Kings MMA head coach, who already stated he thinks his protégé beats the American Kickboxing Academy fighter 10 out of 10 times.

"Let’s do it again. There’s a reason Fabricio wants to fight again," Cordeiro told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. "The first fight, everybody says about altitude, about two years with no fight, blah-blah-blah. Okay. Let’s do this fight again, and he’s gonna prove, for sure, he’s the best heavyweight in the world."

With a long list of top wins on Werdum’s record, Cordeiro believes the UFC heavyweight champion is also the best of all time.

"Fabricio beat (‘Minotauro’) Nogueira, Fedor (Emelianenko), Cain Velasquez. I think he deserves more respect," Cordeiro said. "I see sometimes people put Fabricio as an underdog, and all he has to do is prove he’s the best fighter in the world. He’s the best heavyweight.

"Please, I’m really humble about martial arts because I know I have to be humble because you can never say something more than your mouth. If your mouth says something, you have to say something correct. I don’t wanna hurt nobody, but I believe Fabricio Werdum is the best heavyweight ever. He beat legends, and he deserves all respect."
