UFC 193 medical suspensions: Ronda Rousey potentially out six months

Six fighters received six-month suspensions following UFC’s first trip to Melbourne, including former bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.

"Rowdy" suffered her first loss as a mixed martial artist to Holly Holm in the main event Saturday, and is sidelined for 180 days pending a negative head CT scan. Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Valerie Letourneau, who battled in the co-main event, could also be out six months, mixedmartialarts.com reported Tuesday.

As MMAFighting.com first reported on Sunday, Jedrzejczyk fractured her right hand and will need surgery, while Letourneau, who lost to the strawweight champion via unanimous decision, also needs a negative head CT scan to return earlier than May 2016.

Steven Kennedy, Jared Rosholt and Robert Whitaker also received six-month suspensions. Kennedy lost to Richard Walsh via unanimous decision, while Rosholt and Whitaker defeated Stefan Struve and Uriah Hall, respectively.
