In what was a historic night in more than one way, Holly Holm -- who upset Ronda Rousey to become the UFC's new bantamweight champion -- pocketed more than the biggest victory of her career.
Holm also took home two end of the night bonuses for her efforts in Melbourne, Australia. Her and Rousey took home Fight of the Night, and Holm also received a Performance of the Night bonus. She was awarded $50,000 for each.
Holm was installed as more than 8-to-1 underdog heading into her UFC 193 fight with Rousey, who has established herself as the biggest star in the sport. Holm not only made herself elusive in the first round by keeping her range and punishing Rousey's aggression, she dropped Rousey with a headkick in the second round which all but ended Rousey's reign as the champion.
A couple of follow-up shots later, and Albuquerque's Holm scored what was perhaps the most monumental upset in UFC history, on a night when the promotional also broke an attendance record.
Also taking home a Performance of the Night bonus was Kyle Noke, who scored a first round TKO over Peter Sobotta on the prelims. He too received $50,000.
