This is the UFC 193 live blog for Uriah Hall vs. Robert Whittaker, a middleweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the  Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.

Hall, who has won four of his past five fights, will face Whittaker, who has won three of his past five fights, on the main card.

Round 1: Hall fighting for the third time in less than 100 days. We'll see how he holds up here against Whittaker. The referee for this one is Steve Perceval. The ring girl blows a kiss, and we're off. They touch gloves. Pish kick from Whittaker who then comes charging forward with a volley. Doesn't hit flush, but the aggression early. Leg kick from Whittaker land, and now he waves a big left hand at Hall, who veers back to avoid it. Whittaker not afraid of Hall! Whittaker just landed a nice right hand, and Hall winces and falls back. Another big right as they close in. Hall now kicking for the earlobes, and Whittaker blocks. Another leg kick. Hall snaps off a jab, then a high kick — Whittaker with a left that cashes in. Superman punch from Whittaker, mostly blocked, but he's all about bringing the fight to Hall. Hall spins with his leg hiked up, but thinks better of letting it go. Crazy little exchange at middle, and HAll comes in an almost balletic movement, spinning with his legs, and he ends up falling to the ground. Whittaker goes to work on him down there. Half guard for Hall, who is now trying to keep Whittaker at bay. Whittaker stands momentarily, and drops back in with a big shot. Hall scrambles, and now Whittaker in side control. Elbows to Hall's ribs, and now he gets full mount — for a brief moment, as Hall shakes him off. Still, Whittaker with two big right hands on the ground. He's the aggressor; he's bringing the fight. Side control again. He places a knee on Hall's stomach, and just starts throwing. Now he's got Hall's back, and rolls over. He's looking for the rear naked, but Hall has got his wrists. Hall very poised here, as Whittaker waits for movement. Hall spins around, and Hall ends up on top at the end of the round. All Whittaker though. The Aussie fans love. Round 2: They touch them up. Whittaker again initiates an exchange, and Hall tries to solve him with a knee. Misses. Huge wind up and throw from Whittaker, who misses — but man, he's headhunting. They exchange leg kicks. Now Whittaker comes flying in with punches, and wraps up Hall's middle, dragging him to fence. Footstomps. He has Hall's back on fence, like a police man frisking a suspect. They break, and Whittaker again advances. Hall with a high kick which was blocked, and now Hall moves off the action holding his eye. Looks like he got poked. Break in the fight, as they take a look at Hall's eye. Replays show it was a closed fist that hit him, and the fight goes on. Big right hand from Whittaker. Hall looking a little pisses off, and he tries to evaporate Whittaker with a spinning kick. It doesn't land. Jab by Whittaker, and they exchange in the middle. Neither man standing down. Push kick attempt from Hall, and Whittaker slams him with a left hand after the miss. A lot of level changes, a lot of see-if-he-bites. Both guys want to end it with one big shot. Hall catches a body kick and lands a huge kick to Whittaker's ribs. One of his better shots of the fight. Whittaker rolls along, though, nonplussed. They exchange again, and Whittaker catches Hall with a right hand as he's falling away off balance. Hall stalking, and tries to come in with a kick. A lot of kicks both ways. Hall dekes again, and Whittaker simply makes him pay with a right hand. Hall tries a spinning kick again, which misses. Whittaker doing a fine job of steering clear of the dramatic stuff. Round 3: Third round in a good one. So far Whittaker the superior fighter. They touch them up. Big shot from Hall, and now they are trading! It's Whittaker putting Hall under siege with right hands, as Hall covers his face on fence. Ton of big shots there! Now Hall with his face in the links, and Whittaker has him wrapped up. He's relentless. Knees to the thighs from Whittaker, and now foot stomps. Hall is still favoring his eye. Whittaker is just keeping that pressure on, and Hall spins on the fence to face his antagonist. Still, it's Whittaker with the offense. Hall now banging his fists into the back of Whittaker's head, and they break — and as they do, Whittaker with a big parting elbow. Big flying knee and head kick from Hall, and that registered! Whittaker felt that, and Hall now pushes the action to the fence. Blood streaming down Whittaker's face. He has his back to the links, and Hall has his head down and he's pressing in. Inside knee from Whittaker, who for the first time in the fight is forced to fend. They break. Head kick misses from Hall. He's fighting with real urgency, sensing he's down on the scorecards. Left hand jab from Whittaker lands. Uppercut now. Whittaker giving Hall a lot to think about on the feet; lot of different looks. He comes in again, and the right hand over the top lands. Hall says bring it. They get in close on an exchange, and Hall just misses a huge uppercut. Blood all over Whittaker's face. But he's still winning it, and he swoops in to snatch Hall's back, forcing him to fence. From there he drags Hall down momentarily, but the horn sounds. Close round, could go either way, but should be Whittaker's fight. MMA Fighting scores R3 for Whittaker, 10-9 (30-27 overall).
