HOUSTON -- A bizarre sequence following a point deduction could have been bad news for Julianna Pena.
Instead, The Ultimate Fighter 18 winner buckled down and got the job done against Jessica Eye on Saturday night at Toyota Center. Pena earned a unanimous decision at UFC 192 on across-the-board scores of 29-27.
After the bout, she called out UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
"I'm 6-0 in the Octagon and so is Ronda Rousey," Pena said. "Dana White calls her the Mike Tyson of MMA. Well, I'm Evander Holyfield. So I'm right here, I'll be your huckleberry."

After getting the best of the opening round, Pena (7-2) found herself on the wrong end of a rejuvenated Eye (11-4, 1 NC) in the second round. Toward the end of a round Eye seemed to have in the bag, however, Eye landed a knee to Pena’s head from bottom position.
The referee deducted a point from Eye for the call, but then strangely restarted the bout in the standup, rather than return them to the grounded position with Pena on top. Eye landed a couple punches in the rounds waning seconds.
It became academic in the third round, however, as Pena regained control and sent Eye to her second straight defeat.
After the bout, Pena refused to question the ref’s call.
"The adrenaline was going," Pena said. "Its not my job to decide who gets the point deduction. That’s none of my business, the refs are competent at what they do and they make the decision."
