UFC 192 live blog: Jessica Eye vs. Julianna Pena

This is the UFC 192 live blog for Jessica Eye vs. Julianna Pena, a bantamweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Round 1: UFC 192 PPV main card gets kicked off with a bantamweight bout between Pena and Eye. The referee for this one is Frank Collazo. Pena right right at Eye, and they trade. The clinch in the center, and Pena pulls guard. Eye unloading a couple of hammerfists, but she might be vulnerable here as Pena has her tied up. They stand, and Pena drives Eye into the fence. Fast start, as Eye has a headlock on the fence. Eye pressure on fence, and Pena baby-punching as Eye drives her brow through her collarbone. Eye staying on Pena, who finally peels off the fence and gets the clinch — a couple of knees, and they tumble to the ground. Eye ends up on her back for a moment after a scramble, but they are back up, and Pena trying to ragdoll Eye. Can't. They are on fence, though, and Eye is driving her forehead right into Pena's larynx. They clinch, and Eye lifts a couple of knees into Pena. Now Pena takes Eye down, and she's immediately into side control. Very poised, is Pena, as she starts dropping some elbows. Pena's domain in this position. Couple of the shots come near the back of the head, which draws a warning from the ref. Sharp elbow to the temple from Pena, who continues to work from side control. A series of elbows to the head, as now Eye scrambles just as the round closes. MMA Fighting scores R1 for Pena, 10-9.

Round 2: Pena's corner liked what the Washington fighter was doing in that first. They come out quick, as Pena threatens to change levels. Big exchange, and Eye drives her head into Pena and to the fence they go. Eye is pressuring, but last time she got thrown to the ground when they were here. They separate. Eye able to take Pena down this time towards the center, and she's in Pena's half-guard. Working the G&P, hammerfists into Pena, who is trying to roll. She can't so far. Eye using her hand to disrupt the breathing over Pena's mouth. Eye doing a great job here of maintaining her position, as she continues dropping shots in on Pena. Now Pena rolls, and Eye gets her back. They scramble, and Eye for a moment goes for the neck. Now Eye trying for an arm-triangle, and Pena in a bad spot here! Eye in Pena's half-guard, and Eye is squeezing, but so far Pena looks like she's okay — so far. Now Eye gives that up, and she's dropping hammerfists again. Trying to advance to side control, but Pena keeping her tied up. Once again, Eye able to scramble to get Pena's back, and now Eye has Pena's head between her legs, and in an awkward position. Pena ends up scrambling and ends up on top. But right when she gets started, Eye delivers a knee to the head of Pena, who was grounded. Whoa...they are deducting a point on Eye. That's huge. This was her round. They are back at it, and they have a mean exchange at the end, which Pena takes two big shots straight to the face. MMA Fighting scores the round 9-9, after the Eye point deduction (19-18 Pena overall)

Round 3: See how that point deduction plays out. Leg kick from Eye, and Pena comes to life throwing punches moving forward. Big take down by Pena in the center, and she's in Eye's guard. Pena warned for back of the head shots. Last warning. Pena trying to posture up, but Pena is passing the guard here. She can't get it down, as Eye swivels her hips and pulls her back in. Eye is attacking from the bottom, and she is fishing for a triangle. She doesn't have the arm, and she can't get the clamp. Pena able to shake out of it, and now they are scrambling. Eye gives up her back, and now Pena is all over her. She's looking for the rear-naked choke. She's got her arm under, but Eye very gamely rolls out of it. Wow. Still, Pena in her half-guard, and she traps Eye's right arm with her knee to land a left hand. Eye in a lot of trouble, trying to minimize damage. Now they scramble, and Pena ends up in Eye's guard. Again, Eye aggressive from the bottom, trying to get the triangle. It ends up with Pena stretched over to her half-guard. It looks like Pena has her arm under Eye's neck, squeezing for a one-armed guillotine...can't get it. Eye perseveres, but it should be a decision for Pena.
