Conor McGregor: Nick Diaz's suspension 'is absolutely ridiculous'

From the biggest pay-per-view draws down to the opening match Fight Night competitors, the UFC roster has been nearly unanimous in its agreement that Nick Diaz got hosed by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

Add Conor McGregor's considerable voice to the mix.

The UFC interim featherweight champion added his voice to the mix on Monday's edition of The MMA Hour, strongly disagreeing with the five-year ban the NAC handed down for a marijuana infraction.

"The Nick Diaz situation ... is absolutely ridiculous," McGregor said. "I can't wrap my head around that whole situation."

Also like much of the roster, McGregor happens to be a fan of Diaz. While Diaz's suspension is likely to end up in court, which likely means he'll be out of action for years even if the suspension is overturned, McGregor hopes this doesn't mean we've seen the last of the former Strikeforce welterweight champion in the cage.

"I wish him well," McGregor said. "I've always been a big fan of Nick and his style of fighting. it would be a sad day Nick doesn't lace up the gloves again and won't make that Octagon walk."
