UFC 182 medical suspensions: Four fighters potentially sidelined for six months

Four fighters received medical suspensions that could last upwards of six months following their respective bouts at UFC 182, the Nevada Athletic Commission announced on Tuesday.

Main card fighters Nate Marquardt and Louis Gaudinot, along with preliminary card fighters Paul Felder and Cody Garbrandt, all were handed suspensions potentially stretching into July 3 as a result of injuries sustained during last Saturday's pay-per-view card, which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

Marquardt (right ankle) and Gaudinot (left hand) suffered lopsided unanimous decision losses to Brad Tavares and Kyoji Horiguchi, respectively, while Felder (right foot) and Garbrandt (right hand) picked up impressive stoppage wins over Danny Castillo and Marcus Brimage. All four fighters will be required to receive physician's clearance on their respective injuries or be held out until the summer.

Notably, lightweight contender Donald Cerrone, who easily took a decision over Myles Jury in the night's co-main event, came away from his bout unscathed... which is a good thing as Cerrone has already been booked to fight Benson Henderson on Jan. 18 in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 59.

Russian welterweight Omari Akhmedov drew the event's only other suspension of note, as the 27-year-old will be required to undergo a "follow-up comparison MRI" on a potential arachnoid cyst, according to commission officials. UFC 182's complete medical suspension list can be seen below.
