UFC 183 results: Thales Leites submits Tim Boetsch for fifth straight UFC win

The book on Tim Boetsch is pretty much written.

When "The Barbarian" is able to unleash the beast, he's trouble for any opponent in the middleweight division.

When the fight becomes something other than a brawl, he runs into trouble.

Both of these came into play in his bout with Thales Leites at UFC 183 Saturday night. But unfortunately for Boetsch, Leites withstood his brutal shots and scored an arm triangle victory at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

With the win, Leites, who challenged Anderson Silva for the middleweight title in 2009, improved to 5-0 in his second UFC stint, with finishes in his past three fights.

Boetsch (18-8) got the best of things in the first round, as he laid some heavy hammers down on Leites. After the fight, Leites left cheek was horribly swollen, a testament to Boetsch's power.

Leites (25-4), however, went back to his bread and butter in round two, getting the submission in his second arm triangle attempt, his 14th career win via submission.

Boetsch dropped to 2-4 in his past six fights.
