Alexis Dufresne vs. Marion Reneau

Round 1: Chris Tognoni is the referee in charge. Both fighters open orthodox and Dufresne takes center of the cage. Both fighters throwing one-twos, but Reneau connects with a hard right straight. Dufresne scores an outside leg kick, but pays for it with a right over the top. Dufresne's chin is high in the air and it's causing her to get drilled over and over. Dufresne shoots with no set up. It doesn't work, but she's able to clinch and push Reneau against the fence. Nothing happens before Reneau creates separation. Strong front kick and two outside leg kicks land for Reneau and already Dufresne's face is a mess. One-two scores from Reneau and Dufresne is rocked. She follows up with two more shots, this time to the body. Dufresne survives, but Reneau is throwing huge shots, including an uppercut that partially lands.

Dufresne shoots again, but can't get the double and drives a knee into Dufresne's midsection. Somehow Dufresne lands a right hard, but she's still moving poorly. Reneau has slowed down a bit, but is in no trouble. In fact, as I type this, she tags Dufresne with another right. Hard outside leg kick from Reneau. Dufresne pulls half guard, but Reneau is able to stand up and back out. Stiff jab from Reneau and then a left hook over the top. They turn and turn in the center of the cage, but Reneau is almost scoring whenever she pleases.

Reneau goes upstairs with a left head kick, then cracks Dufresne with an outside right low kick. Checked kick from Reneau and she blitzes forward with a barrage of punches. Akhmedov is counterpunching, but landing quickly and throwing hooks or short punches inside. Nilsson, though, is giving the forward pressure. Right hand scores for Nilsson, but Akhmedov runs through a blast double to plant him on the canvas again. Three short elbows lands sideways for Nilsson, but Akhmedov stands and lands hard shots of his own. Nilsson puts his feet in Akhmedov's hips and pushes him off. Still, though, Akhmedov takes him down again and continues to bang on him. Nilsson stands just as the round expires.

Round 3: Nilsson looks fresher and is pressuring Akhmedov backwards, but hasn't landed anything of significance. Nilsson drives on a double after two punches, but Akhmedov stops it and scores two knees, plus some body shots. They separate and go back to striking in the center. Akhmedov attempts a single, but Nilsson stuffs it. Nilsson pressures Akhmedov against the fence and manages to get him down, but without suffering much damage, Akhmedov stands. Yet, Nilsson takes him back down to the mat almost immediately. Akhmedov kicks him off from half guard and stands, but Nilsson's pressure is relentless. Akhmedov manages to turn him against the cage and is pressuring Nilsson into the fence and manages to somehow drag Nilsson to the mat. He attempts to take Nilsson's back, but granby rolls to reverse. He locks up a guilltone from half guard, then uses a butterfly hook to turn Akhmedov where he then switches to a d'arce. The bell sounds before there is any tap.

Dunham tries to change directions on a body lock, but Damm uses it to separate. Nice left straight from the American. Dunham eats a body kick, but catches it and uses it to shove Damm to the floor. He tries to hold the Brazilian down, but he separates and stands. Hard one-two for Dunham snaps Damm's head back. Another good jab-cross combo. The two exchange short combos the rest of the round, much of it simply going Dunham's way, albeit without any significant damage.
