Welcome to episode 121 of the Promotional Malpractice Live Chat.
This is a huge weekend if you're a true combat sports fan. We all know there's UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs. Siver on Sunday. On Saturday, there's WSOF 17. On Friday, Bellator 132 kicks off on Spike TV. There's filler on all three cards, but good fights as well: Donald Cerrone vs. Benson Henderson, Patricio Freire vs. Daniel Straus, and Jake Shields vs. Brian Foster, to name a few.
That's also not all. Showtime is putting together a highly intriguing heavyweight fight on Saturday night between Bermane Stiverne and Deontay Wilder. Why is it intriguing? The personalities of the fighters clash, the bout actually means more than just what's at stake in terms of a belt and, I dunno, Showtime's promoted it well. Could be a fun one.
Still, though, the Jon Jones issue won't die, and that's partly because Jones' actions won't let it. We're also still waiting on the Nevada Athletic Commission to come through with requests for paperwork. In other words, it's business as usual.
