With Robert Whiteford out with an injury, Taylor Lapilus will make his UFC debut against Dennis Siver at UFC Fight Night 53 on Oct. 4 in Stockholm, Sweden, according to UFC officials Wednesday.
Lapilus (8-1) has won three straight fights and four of his past five overall.
"Of course I know Dennis Siver because he’s a well-known name in MMA," Lapilus said in a statement. "He’s a really strong man, and he’s a great fighter with his punches and kicks. I have a lot of respect for him and it’s a big honour to fight someone like him. I’m going be ready for the challenge."
Siver (21-9) is fighting for the first time since having his decision win overturned to a no-contest after he tested positive for human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG).
Gunnar Nelson will face Rick Story in the main event.
