Bellator releases War Machine following reported allegations of domestic abuse

War Machine, the controversial welterweight formally known as Jonathan Koppenhaver, has been released from his Bellator contract following reports of an alleged altercation on Friday morning in Las Vegas.

According to a report from TMZ, Machine is wanted by Las Vegas police as a primary suspect of an alleged three-person altercation that took place at the fighter's Las Vegas home, which allegedly landed two individuals in the hospital, including his "significant other." Machine is involved in a long-term relationship with pornstar Christy Mack.

Representatives from the Las Vegas Police Department were unable to confirm or deny the report when contacted by on Friday.

Regardless, new Bellator President Scott Coker released the following statement late Friday night.

"We have a zero tolerance policy here at Bellator when it relates to any form of domestic violence, and after learning of this latest incident involving Jon Koppenhaver, War Machine, Bellator is releasing him from him promotional contract with the organization."

Machine (14-5) compiled a 2-1 record fighting under the Bellator umbrella. The 32-year-old previously served one year in a California jail after being found guilty of felony assault stemming from a 2010 bar fight in San Diego.
