UFC on FOX 12: Lawler vs. Brown took place July 26, 2014 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. Top-ranked welterweight contenders Robbie Lawler (24-10, 1 NC) and Matt Brown (19-12) collided in the night's main event, which aired live on FOX. Catch the video highlights above.

Round 1: John McCarthy is the referee in charge of the action. Lawler is southpaw while Brown is orthodox. Brown already stumbling from a hard left from Lawler. Brown stalking and he connects on Lawler, freezing him in place for a moment. Lawler lands his own left to stop the progress. They clinch and Brown trips Lawler to the mat and attempts to set up a d'arce, but Lawler stands an pressures Brown into the cage. Brown with an elbow in the clinch. And another. Lawler breaks free and cracks Brown with s right. Body kick now by Lawler. Brown whiffs on a spinning back fist.

Round 2: Brown darting in and out, but not landing anything. Now a body kick by Brown scores. Brown scores a single and as Lawler scrambles, gets to his feet and pretty quickly separates. Left hand scores for Lawler. Decent left straight by Lawler connects while Brown finds a home for a spinning back kick. Brown charges in with punches and lands a knee to the body.

Round 3: Brown attempts a takedown right away and while Lawler stuffs it against the fence, he scores with downward elbows that cut Brown open. Two body kicks now by Lawer find a home. Right hook over the top finds a home for Lawler, too. Hard body kick seems to have gone a little low and the bout is temporarily halted. A replay shows it was not low (to Brown) and the bout resumes. Brown attempts a takedown and Lawler stuffs it easily in the center of the cage. Excellent body kick by Brown finds the mark. It's blocked, but Lawler drives a thunderous head kick to Brown's top side.

Round 4: Lawler opens up with a takedown and he's in top control away from the fence, but only by about a feet. Lawler is on trying to pass in a way that prevents Brown from wall walking. Brown now gets his back to the cage and Lawler is trying mightily to prevent him from standing. As Brown gets to his feet, Lawler immediately mat returns him from a tight waist from the back. Brown stands again and they separate. Inside leg kick from Brown lands, but a failed double occurs in the middle of the cage. Brown is peppering Lawler with inside and outside leg kicks, but not landing anything of significance.

Round 5: The two open the round exchanging in the middle with Brown scoring a nice body kick. Elbow connects twice for Brown. Lawler presses Brown in the cage, but can't score anything truly meaningful. Good one-two for Brown now. Now a good knee to the body by Brown. Brown is pressing the action with body kicks, punches and elbows at close range. Lawler snaps a body kick into Brown and is now pressing the action. Hard right straight from Brown pops Lawler's head back. Both fighters miss on trading spinning back fists. Brown slips on punches and Lawler tries to attack as he's on his back, but Brown stands and the round ends there.
