UFC Fight Night 46 live blog: Gunnar Nelson vs. Zak Cummings

This is the UFC Fight Night 46 live blog for Gunnar Nelson vs. Zak Cummings, a welterweight bout at Saturday's UFC event at the 02 Arena in Dublin, Ireland.

Nelson, who has won all three of his UFC fights, will face Cummings, who is 2-0 in the UFC, on the main card.

Round 1: Marc Goddard is the referee. Cummings is southpaw while Nelson is orthodox. Nelson punches into the clinch and scores double underhooks, but lets them go and they separate. Nelson tags Cummings with a right on the outside. He throws it two more times, but Cummings slips both punches. Cummings doing a lot of the pressuring now, driving Nelson into the fence, but can't get anything from it. Cummings comes flying in with a knee and eats an overhand right, but it's not heavy. Cummings forces a clinch and pushes Nelson against the fence where he lands two nice left hands.

Round 2: Nelson is being pressured again against the fence and the two are locked in a 50/50 clinch. They separate. Cummings charges in with punches, but hits nothing but air. Two hard right straights down the middle find a home for Nelson now. Not much offense to speak of, but Nelson is doing all the stalking now and cracks Cummings with a body kick. Cummings grabs it, but can't get it. Nelson uses the front head lock to get a snap down and then immediately moves behind Cummings to take the back. He locks up a body triangle and after a very brief spat of hand fighting, finishes Cummings with the rear naked choke.
