ONEFC 15 Rise of Heroes breakdown

OneFC is the number #3 mma organization in the world controlling about 90% of the Asian MMA market. With not much exposure television and media wise in the US it does not get th notoriety it deserves. This upcoming card May 2nd is a definite one to watch.

In the main event of the evening it pits Bantamweight kingpin Bibiano Fernandes (15-3) against Masakatsu Ueda(18-2-2). Bibiano Fernandes has fought some very tough competition and is the raining champion at BW in OneFC with a very impressive 7 fight win streak. It should be noted that until the doctors stoppage he was beating Urijah Faber, and holds a win of Joe Warren in the very beginning of his career. Masakatsu Ueda is no different, holding wins over legends Royler Gracie, and Jens Pulver. As well as a decision win over current Bellator BW champion Eduardo Dantas way back in 2009. (I think Dantas destroys him now but that's besides the point.) He rides a 2 fight win streak coming into this fight.

Both fighters are very skilled and it should be an exciting fight but I think Bibi is just on another level. I believe he edges him out on the striking and the grappling. Bibi beats him everywhere but Is met with a lot of resistance. Expect a hard fought 5 rounds and a decision win for Bibi.

In the co main event of the night we have Former champion Kotetsu Boku (21-9-2) against Eduard Folayang(13-4)

Boku is coming off a big KO win over rising star Arnaud Lepont after dropping his last 2 including his title loss to Aoki. and will look to keep the ball rolling here against Eduard. Eduard started out promising with a lot of finishes and even holds a win over A sol-kwon, but lately he's been very inconsistent losing 3 of his last 5 and has become a decision machine as of late. That said he's not just gonna lay down and let Boku beat him senseless so expect a nice fight. I imagine Folayang will want to test his standup against Boku and that will be his downfall. I predict a first round Ko for Boku

In the flyweight division two prospects who have yet to taste victory in the OneFC cage John Alvarez (12-6) vs Rey Docyogen (10-2) Rey won all his fights until droping his last 2 in OneFC, John was riding a 5 fight win streak until losing his OneFC debut, only one can move one. Both prospects will be hungry for a win here. With only 3 decision wins between the two of them you can expect a war here. Ultimately I believe John will take it to the ground where he excels (9 sub wins) and get the submission finish.

A big clash in the middleweight division Leandro Ataides (6-0) coming off a huge ko victory at OneFC12 will be fighting traveled veteran Tatsuya Mizuno (who has fought the likes of Mirko Cro cop, Mousassi, Thiago Silva, babbalo sobral) and holds wins over Melvin mahoef and Ilar latifi. Yet even with all the experience I see Ataides power to be too much for Tatsuya and he will keep the ball rolling here. Prediction: Leandro first round tko.

that pretty much does it for the main card. The rest of the card is riddled with interesting prospects like Chris Loketeff who takes on TUF veteran James Mcsweeny and Gianni Subba amoung others. This card is well worth the watch. You can buy it online for only $10 and it has a full replay if you just feel like watching it later. The production values are great. I really recommend it. And like a buddy of mine says. PRIDE RULES!! and that's just always fun. Who doesn't like seeing soccer kicks and knees to grounded opponents.
