This is the UFC Fight Night 39 live blog for Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Roy Nelson, a heavyweight bout at Friday's UFC event at the du Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Nogueira, who has lost three of his past five UFC fights, will face Nelson, who has won three of his past five UFC fights, in the main event.

Round 1: Main event time. Referee is Leon Roberts. They get their instructions, and we're ready to go. Nogueira right to the middle. Nelson changing levels, comes in low with a strike, and now Nogueira sneaks under a punch and comes over top with a long jab. Now another finds a home. Nelson content to get in and out. And boom, he lands a big right hand and Nogueira falls down. He was hurt. Nelson came in for a couple of follow-ups, but Nogueira is seemingly okay. Nelson now poised, circling around. Not jumping the gun. Now he comes in low and clips Nogueira in the belly. Big overhand right grazes Nogueira's head. Narrowly missed there. They are standing at center. Nelson sizing things up. Nogueira with a couple of hearty jabs that move Nelson back. Left jab from Nelson leads into big right hand again, and Nogueira eats it. Then big right hand from Nelson! Nogueira is staggered. Another punch, and Nogueira is wobbly. He's bobbing around the cage, and Nelson is very slowly picking his shots. He wades in, and very coolly lays home a big right hand that drops Nogueira straight back. It's over. Nogueira fell over like a tree, straight on his back. He just came in, very methodically, and when he got in range on the injured Nogueira, lowered the boom. Crazy knockout.
